Tagline research

I am going to have to come up with tag lines on both my poster and teaser trailer that are typical for my genre. Therefore I am going to research and look into tag lines that come up on thriller posters, to get an idea of what they consist of and if any patters occur.

Having looked at all these tag lines, there are a number of conventions that come up a lot. A lot of the tag lines use reference to genre such as words like 'killer' which contains a sense of threat and mystery.  They are all short and punchy, which is good as they stick in the viewers mind. They also use a lot of direct reference to the audience by using the word 'you'. This involves the audience and helps them to connect with the film. Having looked at tag lines and spotted these conventions I will try to include them in my potential tag lines which will appear on my teaser trailer and poster.
