Choose 2 magazine cover and annotate the conventions of film magazines
I have looked at conventions of movie posters. I have looked at 20 magazine covers and looked into what they are about, and now I am going to analyse them in terms of there conventions. The 2 film magazine I have picked are completely different and I am going to see if they share conventions, in terms of there layout and design.
Total film
- The magazine I analysed was Total Film. This is a magazine that features Hollywood movies and involves recognisable a-list stars. It is a UK based film magazine and is released every four weeks

Sight and sound
- Sight and sound is a British magazine, it covers independent British European and world cinema, rather than main Hollywood. It is aimed at a slightly older more sophisticated, cine-literate audience.

From doing this task I discovered that conventions of magazine cover conventions are very similar no matter the genre or who their target audience is. However even though the type of conventions are the same, they are styled differently. For example when naming my own magazine cover I am going to closely look at who my target audience is and direct it to them, by focussing on font and colour.
